- புகழ் இல்லாத மனிதனின் உடலைத் தாங்கி நிற்கும் நிலம், குற்றமற்ற தன் வளமான விளைச்சலில் குறைந்துபோகும். பயனுள்ள எதையும் செய்யாமல் வாழ்பவர் இந்த மண்ணுக்கே ஒரு சுமையாக இருக்கிறார் என்று வள்ளுவர் உவமை போலச் சொல்கிறார். நாம் வாழும் நிலத்திற்கும் சமூகத்திற்கும் ஏதேனும் நன்மை செய்து வாழ வேண்டும் என்பதை இது நினைவூட்டுகிறது.
