- விளக்கம்
- துறவிகளுக்கு உணவு, உடை போன்ற தேவைகளைக் கொடுத்து உதவ வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்தால்தான் மற்றவர்கள் தாங்களே தவம் செய்வதை மறந்துவிட்டார்களோ என்று வள்ளுவர் வியந்து வினவுகிறார். 'துறந்தார்' என்றால் துறவிகள்; 'துப்புரவு' என்றால் வாழ்வதற்குத் தேவையான பொருள்கள். தவம் எல்லோரும் விரும்பி மேற்கொள்ளத் தக்க உயர்ந்த நெறி என்பதை இந்த வினா நயமாக உணர்த்துகிறது.
