- உலகில் எதுவும் இல்லாதவர்கள் பலராகவும், எல்லாம் உடையவர்கள் சிலராகவும் இருப்பதற்குக் காரணம் இதுதான்: தவம் செய்பவர் சிலர், தவம் செய்யாதவர் பலர். 'இலர்' என்றால் இல்லாதவர்; 'நோற்பார்' என்றால் தவம் செய்பவர். தன்னை வருத்திக்கொண்டு ஒழுகும் கடினமான நெறியை மேற்கொள்வோர் குறைவு என்பதையே இது சுட்டுகிறது.
