- நோயால் வருந்தும் உடலுடனும், வறுமை நிறைந்த துன்ப வாழ்க்கையுடனும் வாழ்பவர்களைப் பார்த்து, இவர்கள் முன்பு பிற உயிர்களை உடலிலிருந்து பிரித்துக் கொன்றவர்கள் என்று அறிந்தோர் சொல்வர்; இது முந்தைய பிறவியைக் குறிக்கும் என்று உரையாசிரியர்கள் விளக்குவர். 'செயிர்' என்பது நோய்; 'செல்லாத் தீ வாழ்க்கை' என்பது வறுமை மிகுந்த இழிந்த வாழ்க்கை. கொலையின் தீய விளைவு பின்னாளில் தொடரும் என்பது கருத்து.
