- காலம் தாழ்த்துதல், மறதி, சோம்பல், மிகுந்த தூக்கம் ஆகிய நான்கும், அழியப்போகும் இயல்புடையவர்கள் விரும்பி ஏறும் படகு போன்றவை. 'நெடுநீர்' என்பது செய்ய வேண்டியதை நீட்டித்துத் தள்ளிப்போடுவது. இவை இனிமையாகத் தோன்றினாலும், ஏறியவரை அழிவின் கரைக்கே கொண்டு சேர்க்கும். 'நாளை பார்க்கலாம்' என்னும் பழக்கமே பல தோல்விகளின் தொடக்கம்.
