- போர்முனையில் பகைவர் தோற்று வீழும்படி, உள்ளே இருப்போர் செய்யும் போர்ச் செயல்களால் பெருமை பெற்றுச் சிறந்து விளங்குவதே அரண். அரணின் புகழ் அதன் சுவர்களால் மட்டுமன்றி, அதைக் காப்போரின் திறமையான செயல்களாலும் உயர்கிறது.
