- போரில் அழிந்து போகாமலும், பகைவர் தரும் பொருளுக்கோ சூழ்ச்சிக்கோ மயங்கித் தன் அரசனை விட்டுப் பிரியாமலும் இருப்பதே அறைபோகாமை. இவற்றோடு தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக வழிவந்த அஞ்சா நெஞ்சம் (வன்கண்) உடையதே உண்மையான படை. நம்பகத்தன்மையும் மரபாக வந்த வீரமும் ஒரு படையின் அடையாளம் ஆகும்.
