- விருந்தினரைப் போற்றி உதவும் நற்செயலில் ஈடுபடாதவர்கள், 'வருந்தி உழைத்துச் செல்வத்தைக் காத்தோம்; இப்போது எங்களுக்குத் துணை யாருமில்லையே' என்று பின்னால் புலம்புவார்கள். 'பரிந்து ஓம்பி' என்றால் பெருமுயற்சியோடு பாதுகாத்து என்றும், 'பற்று அற்றேம்' என்றால் பற்றுக்கோடு இழந்தோம் என்றும் பொருள். பகிராமல் சேர்த்த செல்வம் இறுதியில் தனிமையையே தரும்.
