- சான்றோர் பெரிதாக மதிக்கும் நன்மை நல்ல குணங்களின் சிறப்பு மட்டுமே. அழகு, செல்வம், பதவி போன்ற பிற சிறப்புகள் எந்த வகையான நன்மையிலும் சேர்த்து எண்ணத்தக்கவை அல்ல. ஒருவரை உண்மையில் உயர்ந்தவராக்குவது அவருடைய குணமே; வெளித்தோற்றமோ உடைமைகளோ அல்ல.
