Beijing has denied reports claiming that Iran obtained missiles from China for use in attacks linked to the ongoing conflict with the United States. China’s Foreign Ministry said the allegation is “not true” and urged steps to prevent the war from spreading to other regions.

The statement comes amid escalating tensions after the US carried out strikes on Iran on February 28, in which Iran’s leader Khamenei and 48 senior figures were reported killed. Following this, Iran has expanded attacks on US military bases and embassies in countries including Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, intensifying the wider Iran–US–Israel confrontation.

China said attacks extending beyond the countries directly involved in the conflict are condemnable and called on all sides to stop military operations. The ministry also said China was not given any prior information about the US military action.

The Foreign Ministry added that one Chinese national has died in Iran during the conflict. It advised Chinese citizens to leave affected areas as soon as possible, noting that more than 3,000 Chinese nationals have already departed Iran.
