Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised BJP workers in Tamil Nadu to focus on constructive, people-centric work to maximise the party’s vote share.

Modi, who was on a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, addressed a public meeting in Madurai on Sunday. Later, he reviewed Assembly election preparations with senior BJP functionaries from the state.

During the interaction, Modi said people in Tamil Nadu were strongly dissatisfied with the DMK and were looking for an NDA alliance government. He asked party workers to campaign with full commitment, with the aim of unseating the DMK.

He stressed that to secure the party’s supportive votes fully, cadres should remain in daily contact with residents in their areas and provide small, needed assistance in a way that wins trust. Modi also asked workers to convey and implement this approach along with booth committee in-charges.
