New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced that its national president, Nitin Nabin, will contest the upcoming Rajya Sabha election from Bihar.
Nabin, an MLA from Bihar, assumed charge as the BJP’s national president a few months ago. The party’s decision places him among the candidates it has finalised for the election.
Polling for 37 Rajya Sabha seats falling vacant across the country is scheduled to be held on March 16. The BJP has released a list of nine candidates for the election.
Apart from Nabin (Bihar), the list includes Sivesh Kumar (Bihar); Taresh Kovwala and Jogen Mohan (Assam); Laxmi Varma (Chhattisgarh); Sanjay Bhatia (Haryana); Manmohan Samal and Sujit Kumar (Odisha); and Rahul Sinha (West Bengal).
