Four people, including a student from Tamil Nadu, were killed in a shooting in Austin, Texas, according to reports. Police are investigating the incident and suspect it may be linked to terrorists.
The shooting occurred at a bar in Austin two days ago, when unidentified persons opened fire in a crowded entertainment area. Three victims died on the same day, while another injured person died on Tuesday.
Among the deceased is said to be 21-year-old Indian student Savitha Shanmugasundaram. Authorities said she was just a few months away from completing her degree.
University officials said Savitha was pursuing dual degrees related to economics, management and information technology. Friends described her as a high-performing student at the McCombs School of Business in Austin and said she was known as a “superstar” student.
