Washington: President Donald Trump has alleged that fraud took place during voting in US elections and claimed that votes were stolen. He said the situation has made the world “laugh” at America’s election process.

In a post on social media, Trump said his administration intends to “fix” the system, warning that failure to do so would threaten the country’s future. He also appealed to members of the Republican Party to fight for changes.

Trump said he wants stricter requirements at the time of voting, including mandatory presentation of voter identification. He also called for voters to show proof of citizenship.

On mail-in ballots, Trump said voting by mail should be limited, with exceptions only for the sick and for military personnel. He did not provide further details on how or when the proposed changes would be implemented.
