Former BJP Tamil Nadu president K Annamalai on Tuesday questioned Chief Minister M K Stalin over what he called the “non-existent” issue of Hindi imposition.
In a statement, Annamalai alleged that whenever the state faces criticism over deteriorating law and order, setbacks in courts, and corruption allegations, the DMK revives the Hindi imposition narrative to divert attention.
He claimed this was an old political tactic and said it should have ended with the previous generation of leadership.
Urging the Chief Minister to focus on “real public issues,” Annamalai listed corruption, murder, robbery, sexual crimes and the spread of narcotics as concerns that, he said, have increased since the DMK came to power.
