Canada has said the large-scale strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran violate international law, as fighting in West Asia escalates.
Speaking in Ottawa, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney described the war as another example of the failure of the international order. He said the attacks on Iran by the US and Israel run contrary to international law.
Carney called for steps to bring the conflict to a swift end and said Canada is ready to help achieve that goal. He also alleged that Washington and Tel Aviv acted without consulting the United Nations and allied countries.
The report noted that China has already voiced support for Iran and urged the US and Israel to stop the attacks. Carney’s remarks add to calls for an early end to the hostilities.
