Iran has been carrying out attacks on US military bases located in several West Asian countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait, according to reports.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar are said to be planning retaliatory measures aimed at protecting themselves. The developments come amid long-running political and security rifts across the region.
The report lists countries that are positioned against Iran as Syria, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Qatar, Bahrain and Armenia.
Countries described as supporting Iran are Turkey, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon. Oman, Egypt and Pakistan are mentioned as maintaining a neutral stance.
