Funeral postponed amid security concerns
Iran has announced that the funeral of its slain ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will be postponed, citing security reasons as US and Israeli military operations continue.
Heavy strikes reported in Tehran
According to the report, more than 100 Israeli fighter jets carried out raids on military bases and missile production facilities in Tehran, dropping over 250 bombs. The attacks have continued even after Khamenei’s killing.
US claims major damage; airspace control forecast
The United States said 17 Iranian ships have been sunk and 2,000 targets destroyed so far. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was quoted as saying Iran’s airspace could come under full US-Israeli control within the next few days.
Public tribute arrangements continue
Iran has also been conducting retaliatory strikes. Meanwhile, following Khamenei’s death, his son Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei has assumed the role of Iran’s supreme leader. Public tributes were arranged from last night at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla for a three-day period, with many seeking permission to attend.
Funeral to be held after preparations
Officials said the funeral will be conducted after necessary secure infrastructure arrangements are put in place.
