New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said war cannot be a solution to any global problem and stressed that disputes should be resolved through dialogue rather than military action.

His remarks came after he met Finland President Alexander Stubb in New Delhi during the Finnish leader’s four-day official visit to India. The two leaders held talks on strengthening bilateral ties, and multiple memorandums of understanding were signed between the two countries.

Addressing reporters jointly, Modi outlined India’s position on global peace amid ongoing conflicts, including tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States, as well as the Russia-Ukraine war.

Modi said the Iran conflict must stop and reiterated that negotiations, not military measures, are the way forward. He also called for terrorism to be eradicated completely.

He added that India will continue to support all efforts to end conflicts quickly—whether in Ukraine or West Asia—and said reforms in global institutions are necessary and should be implemented at the earliest.
