Fighting in West Asia continued for a fifth consecutive day after US and Israeli forces launched attacks on Iran, according to reports. Israel has kept up missile strikes targeting Tehran and other locations.

Iran has responded with counterattacks, including strikes aimed at US military bases in West Asian countries. Israel has also carried out attacks targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon, while Iranian forces have entered Lebanon.

Turkey said a NATO missile defence system intercepted and destroyed an Iranian missile in mid-air. Both Iran and Israel have continued exchanging missile attacks, each targeting key sites in the other.

In Saudi Arabia, Iran carried out a second missile strike on Aramco’s Ras Tanura oil refinery. In the Mediterranean near Libya, a Russian-flagged ship carrying liquefied natural gas was attacked, caught fire and sank.

In the United Arab Emirates, two Amazon data analytics centres were damaged in an Iranian attack, and a facility in Bahrain was also hit. An Iranian human rights organisation said 1,045 people have been killed in Iran so far.
