India booked a place in the T20 World Cup final after defeating England by seven runs in the second semi-final at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. England won the toss and chose to bowl first.
India posted a formidable 253 for 7 in 20 overs, powered by a blistering 89 off 42 balls from Sanju Samson, who brought up his half-century in just 26 deliveries. Ishan Kishan struck 39 off 18, while Shivam Dube added 43 off 25 and Tilak Varma hit 21 off 7.
For England, Will Jacks and Rashid picked up two wickets each, while India also lost key wickets through run-outs, including Dube and Hardik Pandya.
Chasing 254, England finished on 246 for 7. Bethell top-scored with 107, but early strikes and regular wickets kept the chase in check, as India sealed a seven-run win.
India will meet New Zealand in the final scheduled for Sunday.
