NTK (Naam Tamilar Katchi) coordinator Seeman on Thursday alleged that votes are being purchased and said any victory secured by paying money is “disgraceful”. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters in Chennai.

Seeman also spoke about issues along the Tamil Nadu–Kerala border, claiming that the state is suffering losses around the boundary. He alleged that hills are being cut and removed and that waste is being dumped in Tamil Nadu, adding that he was working to address these concerns.

On governance, he questioned whether law and order exists in Tamil Nadu and argued that “democracy has been killed and money-rule has arrived”. He said when a government is forced to focus heavily on law and order, it cannot adequately show concern for people’s welfare.

He further claimed that crimes are rising because laws are not being implemented effectively, and said “good governance” remains only in words, not in action. He also criticised what he described as the growing influence of cinema in the state and questioned the presence of film personalities at government functions.
