The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the 2025 Civil Services Examination. Candidates from Tamil Nadu made a strong mark, with Rajeswari Suve from Madurai securing the All India Rank (AIR) 2 and Raja Mohaideen from Chennai securing AIR 7.
The Civil Services Examination is conducted annually to fill posts including IAS and IPS. For the 2025 cycle, the exam was held to fill 1,087 vacancies, with the written examination conducted in August and interviews held last month.
UPSC said it has recommended 958 candidates for appointment to various civil services posts. Anuj Agnihotri topped the national list, while Akanksh Dhul secured AIR 3.
Rajeswari Suve, from Vadipatti in Madurai district, is already serving as a Deputy Collector in Dindigul after clearing the TNPSC Group 1 examination. She also received training through the state’s “Naan Mudhalvan” scheme.
From Tamil Nadu, Shruthi from Coimbatore secured AIR 18. UPSC noted that three women feature in the national top 10 ranks this year.
