VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan on Friday said no alternative alliance has so far taken shape in Tamil Nadu that can match the DMK-led coalition. He made the remarks while speaking to reporters at the Chennai airport.

He said the DMK leadership is holding talks with parties one by one and added that his party would also be invited for discussions soon. According to him, coordination among the alliance partners is progressing smoothly.

Thirumavalavan claimed the DMK-led front is functioning in a disciplined and cohesive manner, leaving opposition parties “shocked”. He also said more parties are joining the coalition, strengthening it further.

He expressed confidence that the alliance, with public support, would secure a major victory in the upcoming election. Referring to actor Vijay, he said media attention on him is higher because of his popularity.

He alleged that an impression is being deliberately created that Vijay could turn Tamil Nadu politics upside down. Thirumavalavan said Tamil Nadu voters are politically aware and are unlikely to vote under a “cinema-driven” influence as in the past.
