New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised the contribution of women to India’s development journey and said the government remains committed to expanding opportunities for them.
In a social media message marking International Women’s Day, the Prime Minister said the achievements of India’s “women power” are a matter of pride and have played a transformative role in nation-building.
He added that as India moves forward, women’s aspirations and contributions will continue to guide the country’s path towards a more prosperous nation.
Extending greetings to women across the country, Modi said women in every field are advancing India’s progress with unmatched determination, and their achievements inspire the nation.
He also noted that various development schemes are being implemented to empower women, and said the changes in the lives of women at the grassroots level over the past decade are evident.
