Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the war with Iran “at full strength,” in remarks made during a television interview.

Netanyahu said he believes Israel and Iran could one day become “true friends” again, adding that he felt that moment was drawing closer. He also claimed the next phase of the conflict would bring “many surprises.”

He argued that Israel’s victory would remove nuclear-related threats to the wider world and help bring peace between Israel and Iran. Netanyahu said many countries now recognise the danger posed by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s rule.

Stating that Iran has attacked 12 neighbouring countries, Netanyahu said Israel would stand with nations affected by Iranian actions. He added that as the conflict expands, more countries are working closely with Israel and approaching it for cooperation.

Netanyahu further claimed Israel now has almost complete control over Iranian airspace, and said Israeli forces have expanded attacks on Iran’s military and related targets.
