US President Donald Trump has sharply criticised UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, saying the United States does not need Britain’s support as it has “already won the war”.
In a post, Trump said Britain—once a close ally—was considering sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East. Addressing Starmer directly, he said American forces did not require British backing “after we have already won”.
Speaking to reporters, Trump claimed the US was prevailing in the war against Iran and said the conflict would continue for some time. He asserted that Iran’s government had been “completely destroyed”.
Trump further claimed the destruction of Iran’s navy and air force, including 44 ships, and said most of Iran’s missiles had been eliminated. He also said strikes had hit missile production sites and reduced Iran’s drone manufacturing capacity.
He additionally alleged that Iran was responsible for an attack on a girls’ school in Minab, in which many students were killed.
