The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued a fresh summons to TVK chief Vijay, asking him to appear at its Delhi office on March 10 in connection with the Karur crowd-crush case.
The case relates to an incident at Veluchamipuram in Karur on September 27, where a large gathering linked to an event attended by Vijay led to severe congestion. The report said 41 people died after getting trapped in the crowd.
CBI officials are continuing their probe into the incident. Vijay has already appeared twice before the agency and responded to questions, according to the report.
Sources said Vijay’s side has requested that the appearance date be rescheduled. It remains to be seen whether the CBI will accept the request or insist on his appearance on March 10.
