AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) on Saturday said those expelled from the party were “worthless” and alleged that they were surrendering to the DMK. He made the remarks while addressing an election campaign meeting at Perundurai in Erode district.

In his speech, EPS said people who betrayed the AIADMK had been “driven away” by the legacy of MGR and Jayalalithaa, and asserted that no one could bring down the party. He also rejected Chief Minister M K Stalin’s claim that the BJP would “swallow” or destroy the AIADMK, saying the party could not be wiped out by anyone.

EPS criticised Stalin’s leadership within the DMK, referring to past remarks about internal confusion in the party and questioning what Udhayanidhi Stalin had done for the DMK. He also alleged that O Panneerselvam (OPS) had entered the DMK forgetting gratitude.

He further accused DMK members of being involved in ganja sales and claimed this was why the spread of ganja could not be controlled. EPS said the AIADMK would protect itself and challenged the DMK to protect its own party, adding that self-interested individuals would ruin any party they joined.

EPS alleged that several who enjoyed positions in the AIADMK had taken shelter in the DMK and claimed Stalin was accommodating those who had betrayed or been removed from the AIADMK.
