NTK (Naam Tamilar Katchi) coordinator Seeman on Monday strongly objected to TVK leader Vijay’s women-centric promises, speaking to reporters in Chennai.

Seeman said he “hates” and is “disgusted” by such announcements, alleging they resemble a sales tactic of “buy one, get one free” or seasonal discounts rather than governance. He pointed to existing liabilities, claiming the state already has a debt of Rs 10.5 lakh crore and an interest burden of Rs 1 lakh crore.

He warned that continuing to announce freebies like “free gold for thaali” and other giveaways could push the country towards a situation where it could “one day be auctioned.” He also argued that law and order cannot improve without eliminating liquor, and said failing to address it amounts to empty promises.

Seeman further claimed Vijay lacks a distinct ideology or political path, and mocked the promise of giving women Rs 2,500 as something that would “flop” like a film comedy. He added that cinema and ideology are different and should not be confused.

While criticising freebies, Seeman said truly essential services—education that builds knowledge and healthcare that saves lives—should be available free and equally to all.
