Gold prices in Chennai climbed again on Tuesday (March 11), with 22-carat jewellery gold rising by Rs 560 per sovereign to Rs 1,20,960. The per-gram rate increased by Rs 70 to Rs 15,120.
The price movement comes amid fluctuations linked to international trends. In Tamil Nadu, on March 9, jewellery gold was sold at Rs 14,950 per gram and Rs 1,19,600 per sovereign, while silver was priced at Rs 290 per gram.
On March 10, gold rose by Rs 100 per gram to Rs 15,050, and by Rs 800 per sovereign to Rs 1,20,400. Silver also moved up by Rs 10 per gram to Rs 300, with the kilogram rate reaching Rs 3,00,000.
With the latest increase on March 11, gold has gained Rs 1,360 per sovereign over the past two days. Silver prices remained unchanged at Rs 300 per gram and Rs 3,00,000 per kilogram.
