Tehran has shipped nearly 12 million barrels of crude oil to China through the Strait of Hormuz in the 12 days since the conflict began on February 28, according to maritime tracking firms.

As attacks involving the US and Israel against Iran intensify, Iran has continued fighting and has resumed targeting US military bases in Gulf countries, the report said. In the midst of the escalating situation, Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz, a key route used for transporting crude oil to large parts of the world.

The closure has disrupted commercial shipping and significantly affected crude supply globally. The report said oil prices have crossed USD 120 per barrel.

TankerTrackers co-founder Samir Madani said Iran sent more than 11.7 million barrels to China via Hormuz since February 28. Separately, shipping intelligence firm Kpler estimated the volume at around 12 million barrels and noted that China has been a major buyer of Iranian crude in recent times.
