Tehran: Iran will not hold talks with the United States, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, accusing Washington of making failed promises and engaging in military aggression.

In an interview, Araghchi said Iran has had a “bad experience” with negotiations with the US and that there is no question or plan for talks going forward.

He recalled that Iran held discussions with the US last year, but said Iran was attacked in June while negotiations were still underway.

Araghchi added that talks were held again this year after the US side assured Iran there was no intention to attack and expressed interest in a peaceful solution to Iran’s nuclear-related issues. He said three rounds of talks took place and the US delegation claimed major progress, but Iran was attacked again.

Based on these experiences, he said, Iran does not intend to pursue further dialogue with the United States.
