India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke by phone on March 10 night with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi amid heightened tensions in West Asia.
The call comes as fighting involving the US, Israel and Iran continues to intensify, with concerns rising over global crude oil and gas supplies following disruption in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the information shared, the two ministers discussed the latest situation in the conflict-affected areas and exchanged updates on recent developments.
Jaishankar said on X that the conversation was detailed and that both sides agreed to remain in touch.
This was the third such conversation between the two ministers in the past two weeks, after earlier calls on February 28 and March 5.
