North Korea has conducted a second missile test, describing it as a response to the ongoing joint military exercises by the United States and South Korea, according to the country’s state media.
The report said a cruise missile was successfully launched on March 10 from a warship named Cho Hyon. The missile was claimed to have struck target islands off North Korea’s west coast with precision.
State media added that leader Kim Jong Un observed the launch while seated in a room along with his 14-year-old daughter.
During the drill, Kim instructed officials to maintain what he called a reliable nuclear deterrent capability.
Intelligence agencies have also assessed that Kim may be positioning his daughter as a political successor, citing her repeated appearances at military parades and missile-related events since 2022.
