Several major developments are scheduled across Tamil Nadu on March 11, spanning education, politics and public services.

The Class 10 public examinations began today across the state. Officials said around nine lakh students are set to write the exams at 4,219 centres.

In Tiruchirappalli, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate projects worth Rs 5,650 crore. He is also expected to address a public meeting organised by the National Democratic Alliance.

For medical aspirants, today is the last date to apply for the NEET examination. The National Testing Agency has said no further extension will be given.

The Tamil Nadu government is set to hold talks with hotel owners over an LPG cylinder shortage, and has also decided to consult representatives of oil companies on alternative arrangements. Separately, MDMK leader Vaiko will meet party functionaries to discuss whether to remain in the DMK-led alliance after the DMK did not agree to allot additional seats.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has forecast a chance of light rain at one or two places in southern Tamil Nadu today.
