Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath said the party is determined to conduct the “Tamil, Tamilar, Tamil Nadu Rights Retrieval Conference” with the permission of the Madras High Court.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said the conference is planned for March 15 at the YMCA grounds in Royapettah. He added that the event is being organised to create awareness among Hindus.
Sampath alleged that despite making arrangements after obtaining due permissions, the police denied approval citing ongoing Metro Rail works. He claimed that the police grant permissions for meetings held by Muslim and Christian organisations.
He said a petition has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking permission for the conference, and that the case is listed for hearing today. He reiterated that the party will conduct the conference with the court’s approval.
