PMK founder S. Ramadoss has told the Chennai City Civil Court that the party’s loss of recognition was due to “poor functioning” by Anbumani Ramadoss, and claimed that Anbumani is currently not even a member of the party.
Ramadoss has filed a suit seeking a court order to restrain Anbumani from using the PMK’s flag and election symbol. In response, Anbumani’s side filed a petition seeking dismissal of the suit.
The matter came up again before Judge M. Dharmaprabhu, when Ramadoss’ side submitted an 18-page counter. The counter stated that Anbumani cannot question amendments made to the party’s rules, noting that the Election Commission has accepted those changes, and argued that a non-member has no standing to raise such objections.
Ramadoss’ filing further urged the court to dismiss Anbumani’s petition with costs, alleging that several claims made by Anbumani were untrue. The judge directed both sides to present arguments and adjourned the hearing to March 13.
