Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday said his government is committed to spreading development across the state and ensuring progress for people from all sections.

In a statement, he said the state has created two TIDEL Parks and 16 Neo TIDEL Parks under the “Dravidian model”. He credited former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s vision for establishing TIDEL Parks to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position in the IT sector.

Stalin also drew a contrast with the previous AIADMK government, stating that during its final phase in 2016–2021, only one TIDEL Park was laid with a foundation stone.

He said the Pattabiram TIDEL Park, for which the foundation was laid by the current government, was completed and inaugurated quickly. He added that Neo TIDEL Parks have been set up and opened at seven locations—Villupuram, Thanjavur, Salem, Thoothukudi, Tiruppur, Vellore and Karaikudi—expected to provide jobs to 4,200 people.

Further, he said foundation stones have been laid for TIDEL Parks at Madurai and Tiruchi, expected to generate 12,000 jobs, and for Neo TIDEL Parks at nine locations—Tiruvannamalai, Rasipuram, Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar, Erode, Karur, Pudukkottai and Nagapattinam—expected to create 5,400 jobs.
