Resolution adopted at the UN
The UN Security Council has passed a special resolution condemning Iran’s ongoing attacks on Gulf countries and calling for an immediate halt. The move was taken at the UN headquarters in New York.
Attacks reported across Gulf region
According to the report, Iran has been carrying out strikes in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar, describing them as retaliation against the US and Israel. In Dubai, banks and economic zones were cited as key targets.
Drone strike sparks fire in Dubai building
At around 2.45 am, a drone attack hit a high-rise residential building in the Creek Harbour area of Dubai, triggering a fire. Authorities said residents evacuated quickly and that no one was injured, adding that all occupants were safe.
Voting details and reactions
The resolution was backed by 135 countries, including India, and was adopted at the Security Council meeting. China and Russia did not take part in the vote.
Bahrain envoy’s remarks
Bahrain’s UN envoy Jamal Alrowai said the international community was uniting against attacks on sovereign nations. He also warned that such incidents in the Gulf—seen as vital for the global economy, energy security and international trade—were strongly condemnable.
