New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday held a fresh telephonic discussion with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, marking their fourth conversation within a week as the war continues to intensify.

According to the report, the conflict involving the US and Israel against Iran has entered its 14th day, with global voices calling for an end to hostilities even as claims of imminent victory continue to be made by former US President Donald Trump.

During the call, the two ministers discussed the evolving situation in detail, including the regional and global impact of the war. Araghchi briefed Jaishankar on Iran’s efforts to protect the country, its responses to ongoing attacks, and the current battlefield situation.

The Iranian minister also urged the international community to condemn what he described as aggression against Iran and highlighted the importance of BRICS. Jaishankar, in turn, underlined the need to strengthen security in regional and international forums.

Jaishankar confirmed the conversation in a post on X, stating that he had spoken again with his Iranian counterpart and that they discussed bilateral matters and issues concerning BRICS countries.
