Actor Vadivelu on Thursday addressed a DMK meeting held in Chennai’s Kolathur, where Minister Sekar Babu, Chennai Mayor Priya, and film personalities including Nassar also took part.
In his speech, Vadivelu said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, though 73, was working with the energy of a much younger person. He claimed that many who had spoken about “destroying” the DMK had since “vanished without a trace.”
He also described the DMK as having a long history, comparing it to the Thanjavur temple tower, and said this legacy was why the party continued to stand firm.
Vadivelu credited Stalin with giving people an “unexpected happiness” by providing Rs 5,000 under the women’s rights assistance scheme. He further said that only with the DMK and Stalin would Tamil Nadu and its people be safe.
Looking ahead, he predicted the DMK would win 200 constituencies in the coming election and that Stalin would return as Chief Minister, adding that he was offering his congratulations in advance.
