Actor and TVK leader Vijay appeared before the CBI in Delhi on March 15 for the third time in connection with the Karur crowd case, in which 41 people died during a campaign meeting crowd crush.

Sources said Vijay travelled from Chennai to Delhi by a special flight, accompanied by seven party functionaries including Aadhav Arjuna, Nirmalkumar and Jagadeesh.

At around 10.20 am, he reached the CBI office and was questioned based on a set of prepared queries. Officials reportedly confronted him with video statements recorded from persons examined in Karur, along with seized video evidence, and sought his responses.

As in the previous round, Vijay’s vehicle was allowed up to the office portico. Journalists were not permitted to take photographs in the area.

The CBI has already questioned Vijay in Delhi on two earlier days. Sources indicated the questioning may continue on March 16 as well, and if it does, Vijay may have to stay at a Delhi hotel.
