Karaikudi remarks
Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman on Saturday said he should not be compared with actor-politician Vijay’s party, arguing that NTK’s political path and decisions are different.
Speaking to reporters in Karaikudi, Seeman said Vijay did not choose to contest alone from the start. He claimed Vijay invited various parties by offering a share in power, but ended up standing alone as no party joined the alliance.
Seeman contrasted this with NTK’s stance, saying that when he launched the party in 2010, he publicly ruled out alliances or electoral agreements with national parties and Dravidian parties, and has continued to contest independently since then.
He also said NTK relies fully on the people, adding that standing with a crowd does not require courage, while his party chooses to stand alone because it is “distinct.”
On former NTK member Kaliyammal, Seeman said she was like a younger sister and wished her well. He noted her claim that she had earlier held a women’s wing responsibility in the AIADMK and said questions about her decision to rejoin the AIADMK should be directed to her.
