Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday urged the Union government to take steps to address the shortage of cooking gas cylinders.
DMK alliance parties staged protests across the state over the issue, with leaders participating in demonstrations in multiple districts. In a statement, Stalin blamed the situation on what he called wrong decisions by the BJP-led Centre, alleging a lack of foresight and preventive measures.
He said the public was bearing the brunt of the disruption and called on the Union government to respond immediately and restore normal supply.
Separately, Stalin also highlighted a state government webpage featuring Tamil names for children. He said he often requests couples at weddings he officiates to choose meaningful Tamil names, adding that more names would be uploaded and the public could contribute suggestions.
