Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, killing a Pakistani terrorist, officials said.
The action followed inputs that terrorists were hiding in the area. The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint search operation in Uri.
During the operation, one terrorist allegedly tried to infiltrate, prompting troops to open fire. The intruder was killed on the spot and later identified as a Pakistani national.
After the encounter, security personnel recovered an AK rifle, pistols and a large quantity of ammunition from the site. Authorities said search operations in the area are still underway.
