The US State Department has announced a reward of up to Rs 100 crore for information leading to the identification or location of 10 senior leaders of Iran’s Islamic Republic, including the country’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

According to the report, Iran’s former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a joint US-Israel attack on February 28. After his death, it was widely expected that the Iranian government would weaken.

However, Iran has continued to retaliate against the US and Israel. The report says Mojtaba Khamenei has been appointed as the new supreme leader, and claims he is in a coma after losing a leg.

In a statement issued under the “Rewards for Justice” programme, the State Department alleged that Mojtaba Khamenei and members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard are promoting terrorism globally. It said those who provide information could receive the reward and may also be relocated to another country.
