Breakfast and noon-meal schemes to run as usual

School Education Minister Mahesh said the LPG cylinder shortage will not disrupt the state’s breakfast programme for school students. He made the remarks in Tiruchirappalli.

He said neither the breakfast scheme nor the noon-meal scheme has been stopped anywhere due to the shortage. According to him, the Tamil Nadu government has put precautionary arrangements in place.

The minister added that, as per the Chief Minister’s guidance, the schemes will continue without interruption.

He also said there is currently no likelihood of a petrol and diesel price hike, but warned that prices could rise if shortages emerge. He urged the Union government to take timely steps to prevent such a situation.
