India’s Ministry of External Affairs has strongly condemned Pakistan for an attack on a hospital in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul that reportedly killed 400 people. The ministry said the incident amounted to a large-scale massacre and accused Pakistan of trying to present it as a military operation.

In a statement, the MEA described the strike as a “brutal massacre” and a cowardly, conscience-less act of violence. It said the location targeted could not be justified as a military objective in any manner.

India further called the attack an act of aggression and an explicit assault on Afghanistan’s sovereignty, warning that it threatens regional peace and stability. The statement also alleged that Pakistan was acting irresponsibly and repeatedly attempting to stoke cross-border violence to cover domestic failures.

The MEA said no faith, law or moral code can justify deliberately targeting a hospital and its patients.

According to the report, tensions have been rising between Pakistan and Afghanistan in recent days over the TTP issue, with Pakistan’s military carrying out strikes in Afghanistan. The Kabul hospital attack also left 250 people injured; Pakistan initially denied responsibility but later acknowledged it, while offering claims after the strike to justify its action.
