Chennai: Actor Rajinikanth has issued a statement condemning remarks made about him by TVK party office-bearer Adhav Arjuna, calling them “untrue”. He added that “time does not speak, but waits and answers.”
The controversy began after Adhav Arjuna, speaking at a TVK protest in Chennai, claimed that Rajinikanth had dropped his decision to enter politics due to threats from the DMK. The comment drew criticism from various quarters, including political leaders, members of the film industry and Rajinikanth’s fans.
In his statement, Rajinikanth said Adhav Arjuna had recently made a defamatory comment about him. He expressed gratitude to those who condemned the remark and voiced support for him.
Rajinikanth specifically thanked Opposition Leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran, Union Minister L. Murugan, Minister Raghupathi, Thol. Thirumavalavan, S.P. Velumani, K. Annamalai, Arjunamoorthy, Anbumani Ramadoss, G.K. Vasan, John Pandian, Pugazhenthi, and others, along with film personalities Ameer and G. Dhananjayan, media figures Nakkeeran Gopal and Chanakya Rangaraj Pandey, and his fans.
